Swim meet and school carnival timing in South Australia.
From a club night to a SAPSASA district trial, EasyMeet turns the phones already on deck into synchronised timing, with no gear to hire and results ready the moment racing ends.
A tighter-knit club scene
Swimming SA's affiliated clubs number 42, a smaller and more tightly connected scene than some of the bigger eastern states. That has an upside for timing: a club night usually has a known pool, a known group of volunteers and a program that the committee can plan properly, rather than scaling up and down unpredictably. The timing job is still the same one, though: get an accurate time on every lane, every heat, without leaning on a single stopwatch and a clipboard.
- Import nominations from Swim Central as an HY3 file
- Two phones per lane, auto-averaged into one time
- Suits a small, regular club-night program

The SAPSASA pathway
SAPSASA primary swimming runs district trial, then district team, then the SAPSASA State Carnival, then a state team and on to nationals, open to students in years 4 to 6, with ages set at 10 to 12 as at 31 December. Secondary swimming runs through its own separate SA Department for Education championship. Compared with states that run several regional tiers, SA's pathway funnels a lot of swimmers through a smaller number of carnivals, which puts real weight on each one.

A smaller number of carnivals carrying more weight
With one state carnival rather than several regional ones feeding into it, a SAPSASA district trial matters more than its size might suggest: it is often the only chance a swimmer gets to make a district team before the carnival that decides who goes on. That makes an accurate, defensible time at the trial stage genuinely important, not just a nice-to-have for the day.
Where EasyMeet fits in SA
EasyMeet suits both ends of the SA pathway: a club's regular club night, and a school or district running a SAPSASA trial. It is worth being upfront about what EasyMeet is, though: it produces proper hand times, two timers per lane averaged for consistency, which is a real step up from a lone stopwatch, but it is still hand timing. For any stage of selection where officiating requirements apply, those still need to be met regardless of what is timing the race.
- No timing gear to buy or hire for a district trial
- Scan a QR code to join, nothing to install
- PDF and CSV exports ready when racing ends

SA questions
What ages does SAPSASA swimming cover?
Years 4 to 6, with ages set at 10 to 12 as at 31 December, running district trial through to the SAPSASA State Carnival.
Is a district trial really worth timing properly?
Yes. SA's pathway runs through fewer tiers than some states, so a district trial often decides who goes on to the state carnival. An accurate, consistent time at that stage matters.
Does EasyMeet suit a smaller club scene like SA's?
Yes. EasyMeet is priced per club night or per club, not per swimmer, so a smaller club gets the same features as a larger one for the same cost.
Can EasyMeet import our Swim Central nominations?
Yes. Drop in the HY3 export and the whole program, every event, heat and lane, builds itself and matches against your roster.
Are EasyMeet's times official for SAPSASA selection?
No. EasyMeet produces proper hand times, consistent and far better than a single stopwatch, but any selection stage with its own officiating requirements still needs those met separately.
