A swimming time trial app that turns the trial into a baseline, not a one-off.
A time trial is usually the simplest night on the calendar, no heats to argue over, often no places. EasyMeet times it the same way as any meet, on phones, and the results become every swimmer's first PB on record straight away.
A good time trial does two jobs at once: it gets a real number for every swimmer, and it sets the baseline everything after it gets measured against. A stopwatch and a card can get you the first. Only a system that keeps the result can get you the second.
Run the trial on the phones already on deck
Build a short program by hand, usually one or two events per squad, or import entries from a Swim Central HY3 file if you've got one. Whoever's free times it: scan a code, pick a lane, tap FINISH when the swimmer touches.
- Set up in minutes, no gear to hire
- Two timers per lane, auto-averaged
- Works for one squad or the whole club
Results reach the board and the TV the moment they are recorded. Nobody has to refresh or check back, it just appears.
A swim time trial results sheet, ready straight away
The moment the trial ends, export the results as a PDF to print or hand out, or as CSV to seed your next carnival's entries or load into your own records. Every time is also logged as that swimmer's starting PB, checked automatically from their next race on.
- PDF results sheet, ready to print
- CSV export for seed times or records
- Becomes each swimmer's first logged PB

Time trial questions
What's different about timing a time trial versus a club night?
Not much, which is the point. A time trial is usually a short, informal program, often every swimmer in one event rather than racing for places. EasyMeet runs it exactly like any other meet: build a short program, time it on phones, and every swim still gets logged as that swimmer's first result on record.
Can we use the results as seed times for a later meet?
Yes. A time trial's times become each swimmer's previous best straight away, carried forward automatically, and the results export as CSV, which you can use to seed entries for your next carnival or hand to Swim Central.
Do we need a results sheet we can print or hand out?
Export a swim time trial results sheet as a PDF the moment the trial ends, ready to print for the noticeboard, or a CSV if you'd rather drop it into a spreadsheet.
Is a time trial worth setting up properly, or should we just use stopwatches?
A stopwatch and a clipboard works, but every time is then a one-off with nothing to compare it to. Run the trial through EasyMeet instead and the same swim becomes the first entry in that swimmer's PB history, checked automatically every time they race again.
Who can run the timing on a trial day?
Whoever's available. A time trial is often the easiest night to hand timing to brand-new volunteers, since there's no app to install and nothing to train: scan a code, pick a lane, tap FINISH.
What does a time trial cost on EasyMeet?
Your first meet is free on any plan, with every feature and no card needed. A one-off trial suits the Per meet plan ($75); a club running trials every term is usually better off on the Club plan. If a club runs more than about five club nights a year, the Club plan works out cheaper than paying per meet.
