Import your Swim Central HY3 file and the program builds itself.
Export your meet entries from Swim Central once nominations close, upload the HY3 file, and EasyMeet turns it straight into events, heats and lanes. No retyping a nominations list by hand.
One export, one upload
A Swim Central HY3 meet entries file lists every swimmer nominated for your meet or carnival, and every event each of them is entered in. Rather than typing that list into a program by hand, EasyMeet reads the file directly and builds the program from it.
- Every nominated swimmer and their events
- No manual program typing
- Works for a club night or a whole carnival
Every nominated swimmer, every event they're in, and the field they're swimming. No retyping a nominations list by hand.
From HY3 file to results, in four steps.
Close entries in Swim Central
Once nominations for your meet or carnival are closed, Swim Central can export the meet entries file.
Export the HY3 file
Download the meet entries export: the same file format many timing systems in Australia already read.
Upload it to EasyMeet
The program builds itself: events, heats, lanes, with every nominated swimmer in the right race, ready for timing.
Export results afterwards
Once racing is done, download results as a PDF to print, or as CSV for a spreadsheet and your own records.
What's actually in the file, for the curious
Swim Central's HY3 export is a Hy-Tek format file: fixed-width records for the meet, the team, each athlete and each entry. EasyMeet reads the athlete records (name, Swim Central ID, date of birth) and the entry records (which events each swimmer is nominated for) and links them together to build the program.
Club nights often export with no seed time set, which Swim Central marks as NTS (no time). That's expected and does not stop the import; EasyMeet simply has no prior seed time to show for that swim until they actually race.
HY3 is a shortcut, not a requirement
Not every club night runs through Swim Central. You can add races manually and bring swimmers in from your club roster instead, then run the meet exactly the same way, timed on phones with the same live board and the same PB verdicts.
- Add races by hand in a few taps
- Pull swimmers straight from your roster
- Same timing and live board either way
Add a race, add swimmers from your roster, repeat. No Swim Central file required to get a club night timed.
HY3 import questions
What exactly is a Swim Central HY3 file?
It's the meet entries export Swim Central produces once nominations close: a Hy-Tek format file listing every swimmer nominated, their details and the events they're entered in. It's the same export file many timing systems in Australia read.
Where do I get the HY3 file from?
Export it from Swim Central after entries close for your meet or carnival, the same file you'd otherwise hand to a timing operator. Then upload it straight into EasyMeet.
What does EasyMeet actually do with it?
It reads the swimmer and entry records and builds your whole program from them: every event, every heat, every lane, with the right swimmers in the right races. You don't manually type up a program afterwards.
Does it import seed times too?
If the file carries seed times, EasyMeet reads them. Club nights often export with no seed time set (Swim Central marks these NTS), which is normal and does not stop the import.
Can we export our results back into Swim Central as an HY3 file?
No, not today. EasyMeet exports results as a PDF to print or share, and as CSV for a spreadsheet or your own records, not as an HY3 results file for re-uploading to Swim Central.
What if our club or carnival doesn't use Swim Central?
You don't need a file at all. Add your races manually and bring swimmers in from your club roster, then run the meet the same way. The HY3 import is a shortcut, not a requirement.
