Swim meet and faction carnival timing in Western Australia.

EasyMeet is built in Western Australia, and it turns the phones already on deck into synchronised timing for club nights and faction carnivals alike, with no gear to hire.

Club nights

Club nights across a big state

Swimming WA covers more than 80 clubs and around 15,000 members, across regions that stretch from Metro North, South, Central and East through the South West, Great Southern, Peel and all the way to Gascoyne. That is a genuinely large footprint for one association, and it means a club night can look very different depending on where in the state it is run, from a busy metro pool to a regional centre a long drive from the next club.

  • Import nominations from Swim Central as an HY3 file
  • Two phones per lane, auto-averaged into one time
  • Works the same across every Swimming WA region

School carnivals

WA's faction carnival and School Sport WA

WA schools don't call it a house carnival, they call it a faction carnival, splitting students into their school's factions for the day. School Sport WA runs graded interschool carnivals on top of that: secondary carnivals run over 5 days at HBF Stadium in Mt Claremont, with promotion and relegation between divisions each year, and there is a separate structure for primary interschool carnivals.

  • Suits a single-school faction carnival or a graded interschool carnival
  • Age groups and heats set up once, applied across every event
  • Run sheet printed straight from the imported program

What a WA carnival has to work around

The WA Department of Education sets out swimming and water activity requirements for schools (Appendix S), which schools need to follow alongside whatever carnival format they choose. On top of that, School Sport WA's promotion-and-relegation system means a secondary school's carnival result this year can change which division it swims in next year, so the timing and the record-keeping matter well beyond the day itself.

Why EasyMeet

Where EasyMeet fits in WA

EasyMeet is built in Western Australia, and it was built for exactly this kind of day: a faction carnival or a graded interschool meet where a school has to time a whole student body without buying or hiring touchpads. Volunteers, teachers or senior students join by QR code, no app or login required, and results land on the hall screen live, with PDF and CSV exports ready for the office or the committee the moment the last race finishes.

  • No timing gear to buy or hire for a faction carnival
  • Scan a QR code to join, nothing to install
  • PDF and CSV exports ready when racing ends

Questions

WA questions

What's a "faction carnival"?

It's the WA term for what some other states call a house carnival: students compete in their school's factions rather than year groups. The timing problem is the same either way.

How does School Sport WA's secondary carnival work?

Secondary interschool swimming runs over 5 days at HBF Stadium in Mt Claremont, with divisions that move up or down each year based on promotion and relegation.

Do we need to follow the Department's Appendix S requirements if we use EasyMeet?

Yes. EasyMeet handles timing and results, not pool safety or supervision, so a school's own water activity requirements under Appendix S still apply as normal.

Is EasyMeet actually based in WA, or just used here?

It's built here. That doesn't change the product for other states, but it's part of why faction carnivals and WA club nights were front of mind from the start.

Can EasyMeet import our Swim Central nominations?

Yes. Drop in the HY3 export and the whole program, every event, heat and lane, builds itself and matches against your roster.
